Hobby-exclusive Clear versions are capped at just 10 copies. This is a partial parallel for 100 cards in the main set.
There are also the standard Advanced Stats versions along with Base Short Print (SP) and Super Short Print (SSP) Image Variation cards.
In typical flagship style, the insert selection for 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball is robust. 2021’s Greatest Hits revisits 20 top offensive performers from the previous season, Diamond Greats puts 25 legends on a die-cut design, and Flashiest Feet focuses on 15 pairs of custom cleats.
Other sets include Turnin’ Two, for the notable shortstop/2nd baseman duos, and Welcome to the Show, which looks back at the rookie years for current and former standouts and digs into each star's specific route to the bigs.
A three-part continuation insert, Generation Now showcases the newest MLB stars. The 90-card set is spread across Series 1, Series 2 and Update Series.
In general, the standard inserts can be found as Blue, Black (#/299), Gold (#/75), Red (#/10), and Platinum (1/1) parallels. There are also Autographs for certain subjects, numbered to 10 or less.
On top of that, Topps' annual look back to a prior design covers 1987 Topps Baseball in honor of the 35th anniversary. The retro series adds a new Wood (1/1) parallel alongside the parallels noted above.
Also debuting in 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball, Salute to The Mick is another three-part insert found in Series 1, Series 2 and Update Series. The nine-card set naturally celebrates Mickey Mantle. Per Topps, these are "limited and very rare."
Retail fans can find exclusive Stars of MLB and Chrome Stars of MLB (1:10 packs) inserts.

Falling 1:228 packs, Home Field Advantage is a new short print to chase. These greatly resemble the popular Downtown inserts from Panini.
There is also the Home Run Challenge promo series.

Various swatches from the stars of baseball can be found in 1987 Topps Baseball Relics and In the Name Relics (Hobby/HTA), with jersey nameplate letters, along with Major League Material Relics, Postseason Performance Relics (#/99 0r less) and World Series Champion Relics (#/99 0r less).

Closing out the odds and ends for Series 1, the Hobby/HTA-exclusive Sketch cards provide a one-of-one chase for top players.
The HTA Jumbo boxes also contain exclusive Oversized 1987 Topps Future Stars Boxloader cards. These come in every box and there are also limited Autographs, numbered to 10 or less.
As has been the case for years, Hobby and Jumbo boxes feature the 2022 Topps Series 1 Silver Packs Promo.
Every Hobby box has one Silver Pack and HTA Jumbo boxes contain two Silver Packs. These offer chromium cards with a chance for limited parallels and autographs.
Just like in 2021, select breakers get in on the fun early, on February 15, which is one day ahead of the official release. The 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball Rip Party features multiple group breakers from the hobby.
As has been the case the last few years, Topps turned over the decision to collectors as to which player will be in the coveted #1 spot for 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball.
The selection is limited to 10 choices from the American League and another 10 from the National League. Fans can select up to three names from each group. There is no option for write-ins. Voting continues until Wednesday, October 6 at 11:59 PM (Eastern).
The winner is Shohei Ohtani.
Marking the second straight year with a full border, the 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball design is less busy than in recent years. The nameplate is also much easier to read.
Young phenom Wander Franco offers the first look at the design, which should be his initial MLB rookie card.
As seen above, the 2022 Topps Series 1 Baseball style more resembles the look of the early 2010s. The back image was not provided, so collectors will have to wait to see how the stats are organized in 2022.
